How To Set Clock On C6 Corvette
Skip's Tech: C6 clock gear up due to loss of ability
C6 Disappearing clock/Bombardment Tender for winter storage.
For all club members that park their corvette or other vehicle for wintertime storage or extended vacations, some type of battery tender is a must. For all C6 owners that have NAV, it is a must. If your battery goes dead or you swap it out with new bombardment, your clock will disappear.
They blame this on a affair called GPS Weekly Number Rollover (WNRO). Every 19 years all the satellites that are calendar related to GPS, their numbers are roll back to naught. That ways your GPS tin longer connect any satellite for time. Your nav will notwithstanding work, but no clock.
This GPS disconnect does not happen unless your battery goes completely expressionless or you swap it out for a new i and do not have a power backup to the car. You tin can do this two dissimilar ways.
Kickoff option: Use a 9-volt power unit of measurement called Settings Keeper, made by NOCO. (PNBTE296) Available at Pep Boys. This has a cigarette lighter plug in with a ix-volt battery connection. So if you swap batteries, plug this into your cigarette lighter or console ability outlet prior to disconnecting the bombardment. Everything (radio presets/clock) will be saved.
Second option: Accept a bombardment tender attached (and on) to your cigarette lighter outlet or your console power outlet. So bandy your battery.
As well, all C7s accept the inside power connexion on the right rear side wall. It's made for a battery tender.
Offset thing to do is ensure you accept power to the cigarette lighter or center console ability outlet. If dead, the lighter has a 20-amp fuse nether the rider side floorboard. Bombardment tender makes a male cigarette lighter plug in (PN 081-0069-5) that is made to attach to a battery tender charger. This is bachelor at Summit. Searched 7 other auto stores with no joy. They also make a voltage adapter. (PN 081-0157). This unit of measurement plugs direct into the cease of the cigarette lighter adapter. If there's power to the lighter or power outlet, its lights upwardly green and gives an read out of bombardment voltage. Nice thing to have and very simple. As well, they practice make 12.5 ft and 25 ft extension cables for the Battery tenders. Makes life easier. Can be ordered through Walmart.
